Simple and easy to use, strong, direct sunlight through a window will cause the chime to sound and spin. Less light slows the chime down. Low evening light will cause occasional activity. If you have low lighting or no strong outdoor lighting available, it is recommended you place your chime at the base of a table lamp. We suggest a 100-watt light bulb for best results. That is enough light to cause a pleasant, low chiming sound. To silence the chime, the striker may be removed.
