It's hard to stay "crabby" when you have this charming Wood and Rope Crab as part of your décor. The crab's body—complete with four sets of legs and two "jumbo" pincers—is carved from reclaimed wood and painted with an ocean-hued paint scheme, while the top of his "shell" is made from loops of natural abacá rope. Also known as Manila hemp, the abacá tree is a species of banana native to the Philippines. The fiber harvested from the abacá is not only used for making twine and rope, but is also pulped to create specialized paper products such as tea bags, filters and bank notes. This delightful tabletop crab will be a charming addition to your décor, or put him to work as a pin cushion or as a place to tack a note.

  • Wood and rope crab sculpture
  • "Shell" is formed from coiled abacá rope
  • Carved wood body
  • Painted in ocean-blue hues
  • A whimsical taste of the seaside
