Easy Nectar Recipe
Ingredients: 4 cups of filtered water, 1 cup of regular white sugar
Bring water to a boil. Remove from heat. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Wait for the nectar to cool before filling the feeder. Store the leftovers in your refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Never put dyes, honey, gelatin, brown sugar or artificial sweeteners in a feeder, as they can produce mold and sicken birds. Plain sugar water is best.

Feeder Placement
Position the feeders near flowers, a garden, bird bath, or small fountain. Put the feeder in a shady spot, because if it sits in the direct sun all day, the nectar will quickly spoil. If you have no other option, clean and replace with fresh syrup daily. To protect the birds from predators, hang the feeder at least 4 feet from the ground.

Care & Cleaning
Maintain a healthy feeder by cleaning it every few days, especially in very hot weather. Separate the reservoir from the feeder station, and flush both with warm soapy water and a bottle brush. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water before refilling. You can also soak the feeder in a mixture of ¼ cup white vinegar and 1 gallon of water, then clean with a bottle brush. Rinse with fresh water before refilling.
