We Care for Critters!

That’s why we’ve partnered with our local rescue – the all-volunteer Madison County Virginia Animal Shelter – to raise funds for our furry friends. For each sale of this item and others in our Care for Critters collection, we'll donate $1 to the shelter to help feed and care for an animal waiting for its forever home.

We all fell in love with this charming Woven Giraffe Storage Basket. This whimsical storage hamper is handcrafted from woven water hyacinth reeds with a painted-on face, perky, alert ears and realistic markings. This delightful woven basket is perfect for anything from towels to toys and is a delight to look at, even empty.

Fun fact: Giraffe horns are not actually called horns but ossicones, and both female and male giraffe have them. Ossicones are formed from ossified cartilage and are covered in skin.

Giraffe are born with their ossicones, however, they lie flat and are not attached to the skull to avoid injury at birth. They only fuse with the skull later in life.
