Through her remarkable mastery of gestural sculpture, the artist captures all these emotions with minimal detail. The tilt of the figure's head and the way her hand protects her candle's flame from the wind say all that needs to be said.

Inspired by dance, art history, nature and personal experiences with family and friends, Susan Lordi uses figurative sculptures to reflect our relationship with people and the world around us. In addition to working in sculpture, Susan has spent years making art with cloth. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, she holds a Master of Fine Arts in Textile Design and her fiber art has been exhibited internationally.
