Classic Scrabble in Metal Box
Gather some friends and pull out this Classic Scrabble in Metal Box for some good old-fashioned wordplay. Packaged in a handy metal tin, this set has all the elements of the old favorite including a folding game board with the classic Scrabble graphic design, four wooden tile trays, a drawstring bag and, of course, 100 tiles including two blanks. Sure, you can play versions of this challenging game online, but playing together in person adds so much to the experience. Plus, your opponents can't secretly look up words without you knowing.
Ideal for family game night or when friends come to visit, Scrabble was originally created in 1938 by American architect Alfred Mosher Butts. To determine the number and value of the tiles, Mr. Butts manually tabulated the frequency of letters in words of various length using examples in a dictionary, the Saturday Evening Post, the New York Herald Tribune, and The New York Times. Thanks for the effort, Mr. Butts. It was well worth it!
