Wine lovers and fishermen alike will enjoy this Handcrafted Fish-Shaped Corkscrew in White Oak from Uncorked Originals. Each heavy duty corkscrew is made of stainless steel and white oak in an interestingly fishy shape and includes a foil cutter, corkscrew and bottle opener. Stylized fish "bones" are hand-burned into the white oak handle to add to the "fishiness" of this fanciful, but functional wine lover's tool.
The "Bones" fish corkscrew features a double-hinged design for easier cork removal. Once the "worm" or coil has been twisted into the cork, set the first pair of barbs on the bottle top and pull up to partially remove the cork. Then, extend the second hinge and set the second pair of barbs on the bottle mouth, pull up again and completely—and remarkably easily—remove the cork. The second hinge creates extra leverage, making it much easier to pull corks than with a traditional single-hinge design.
This pocketknife style of corkscrew is popularly known as a sommelier knife, waiter's friend or wine key and was first conceived by German Karl Wienke in 1882. Each of our fish-shaped double-hinged corkscrews is hand-designed and hand-burned by American artisans to make a truly unique gift idea.Read More
