Provide a stylish home to feathered friends by hanging this Frank Lloyd Wright Dana-Thomas House Birdhouse. Adapted from Wright's Susan Lawrence Dana House, built in Springfield, IL, in 1902, this birdhouse design features the southern entrance to the main house reproduced as a laser-etched image on the front piece of clear acrylic. The opening of this Frank Lloyd Wright birdhouse is big enough for chickadees and house wrens, but too small for sparrows. To maximize the appeal to chickadees and wrens, mount the birdhouse four to ten feet above the ground.

The Susan Lawrence Dana House, on which this birdhouse is modeled, is a showcase of craftsmanship in detailed art glass doors and windows, light fixtures, terra cotta sculpture, planters and an exquisite mural. The red tile pitched roofs have fascias of stamped copper.  Wright's use of nature themes and geometry using a palette of autumnal colors of rich amber, green, and brown is applied to the birdhouse.

In addition to providing a unique home to backyard birds, a portion of the proceeds from sales of this Wright-inspired birdhouse will go to the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation™ to support conservation and education programs.
