Invite your small backyard birds to nest in our classic Public Library Birdhouse, modeled after the Osage, Iowa Public Library. Constructed in 1910 with a $10,000 gift from Andrew Carnegie, the impressive building is still in use today as Osage's city hall. Similar in construction to hundreds of libraries throughout the United States, this birdhouse mirrors the rich tradition of a "library as a community center." Featuring three nesting boxes, one on each side and one over the front door, our library birdhouse has painted white accents and a deep red, shingled roof. Similar to the building that inspired its design, this cream-colored birdhouse has the words PVBLIC LIBRARY printed above the main entrance. Our eye-catching garden accent is a fully functional birdhouse with removable back walls, drainage, ventilation and 1-1/4" dia. openings to allow wrens, finches, chickadees nuthatches and titmice to read, rest and nest! Constructed with exterior grade ply-board, pine roof shingles and poly-resin details.
