We use this product to watch the barametic pressure. It is a conversation piece and we are always watching it as we watch the weather. It's interesting to see how it works with the weather and predicts when we are going to have rain or snow.

More accurate than the Weatherman!!

Great to show how barometric pressure works! I got this as a gift for friends. They were not as "enthused" as I was when I got mine, howeve they set it up and hung it on a wall. Within a week a storm front moved in and it was overflowing! Their grandkids were there and everyone was excited. My friend was so excited she called me at work to tell me about it and how glad she was to have it!

Great barometer!

It looks great hanging on the wall! The wood is beautifully finished, the glass is graceful. Love the overflow cup too. I've always wanted one of these and this is one of the nicer ones I've seen.

if it had really been wood

the glass barometer is excellent and true to the historic original design , However the base is plastic not the " Impression" of real wood as seen on the web sight> Buyer beware nowhere did they state that it was wood So my bad for not researching , 2nd the extremely small barometer\thermometer in the base is hard to read {size ] Dose not fit well into the opening made for it >Plus it does not work. Which is not so important because I purchased it mostly for the glass barometer not the modern dial inset . So I took the dial barometer out and placed a mirror in it's place .
