    Comments about Product:
I agree with previous reviewers. The sails, especially the yellow section on the multicolored sails, do not last. We had to make a new sail of more durable material. We even brought our unit in for the winter. Other than that we enjoyed it until the lower boats stopped spinning in the fourth year.

    Comments about Product:
We had this spinner and enjoyed for 1 summer. Stored inside over the winter and by mid 2nd summer the flat top masts had worn through the sails. Manufacturer should take this into account for the next model
  • Beware weak connection

    Comments about Product:
Have bought this product twice. Exact same installation place. First one lasted two full years (removed and keep inside during winter). Replaced it in 2014 because original unit's sails tore. Installed new one and within a week the connection between the post and the mounting plate broke. Wind and Weather sent a replacement quickly (very good customer service). While unpacking new unit from box same thing happened; mounting plate dislodged from post holding light and sails rending unit useless. Looks like connection is held together with glue, whereas it should be welded. Won't buy again unless the manufacturer changes it process. When it works it is a fun piece for the yard.

    Comments about Product:
Pretty cheap but looks good from a distance.
As with other complaints the attachment to the base is/was worthless. Broke as I was putting it up. no weld at all! I was able to put a bolt through the base and secured it to my satisfaction. such a shame as it is or should be such a fun piece.
  • Love it . . . but

    Comments about Product:
I love this and it is a great addition to our river house, however I'm a little disappointed in the sails, especially with the price paid. Like one reviewer said, no matter what knot you tie, the sails tend to come undone and it takes some toying around to get the inside boats to spin. Also after one summer the sails are badly faded (we brought it in for the winter). After just one seasons use, I'm going to have to make replacement sails soon.

    Comments about Product:
Initially a great addition to our lake side garden. Problem is with the masts. They are cut straight across which provides a sharp contact with the sails. At the end of one season 3 of the sails had ripped through the top of the sail. Needs some correction, particularly for the price charged.
  • Love it!

    Comments about Product:
I bought this at least three years ago and it is up all year. The lights are colorful all night and look especially beautiful when there is snow on the deck railing. It has gone through some pretty heavy winds and one sail now needs to be replaced. I also purchased one for a friend who lives on Pick Wick Lake and they love it also! It is quite fascinating to watch it spin!
  • sails easily shred

    Comments about Product:
I love the sailboats but the sails are just not durable. I have had this for 1 year and been thru 2 sets of sails. the last set is about 6 months old and completely shredded. When the first set shred I called the company and they replaced them for free. Great customer service
  • We love it, it works perfectly

I am trying to find out if I can replace the sails as they have become tattered over the two years that I've had it. I've called the corporate office and left a message but got no response so far.

  • I really like my solar sailboat spinner
    4/11/2012 12:00:00 AM

    Comments about Product:
We have tried various knots to tie the sails but they keep coming untied. When the sails are tied the sail boats whip around so fast it is a blur, so maybe it is best to tie only two of the 4 sails. Nicely designed and so colorful on the deck. FYI the light is not that bright and does not stay lit for more than 4 hours when it is dark.
  • Toland Sailboat Wind Spinner - Love!
    3/17/2012 12:00:00 AM

    Comments about Product:
Love this spinner! Speacial Notes: 1) you need to find a good location where you'll get wind/breezes in order for it to work; 2) Just as a real sailboat, you need to adjust your sails: they must be loose enough in order to pick up the wind and spin, otherwise, you will think it doesn't work 3) tie your sails in four-square knots or they will untie. Once you have properly set up your Toland Sailboat Wind Spinner.. you will LOVE it!!! PS-in other reviews I've read, Toland guarantees in up to 50mph winds!
  • Fun product, gets tons of positive comme
    3/1/2012 12:00:00 AM

    Comments about Product:
A wonderful product. Sails lines need to be retied very tightly. After a year or so the sails would turn on the mast, changing the shape of the sails. I glued them to the mast and they have worked well for another year. Top row spin in light breeze. Bottom row are attached to a generator and take a little more wind. The longer it is up the better it works. After almost three years even the bottom turns nicely. I get lots of very positive comments. Make sure you aim the solor cell to the most sun.
  • I Love my new little boats!

We are thinking of repositioning it for more wind. Our trees are blocking most of the wind.
  • Fun to watch

    Comments about Product:
It's fun to watch, it works great but the sails come untied a lot. I finally used four square knots to keep it from untying.
  • Some good, some bad

    Comments about Product:
We absolutely LOVE the product, but are VERY disappointed in the duration of lighting at night. On a GOOD night, the light lasts 30 minutes, most nights much less. Expected much more with the solar and wind power chargind.
  • "Cute but impractical in the wind"
    6/16/2011 12:00:00 AM

    Comments about Product:
I loved the idea and the looks but it totally blew off after three days in heavy wind. It totally sheared off and fell into deep water...lost forever! A lot of money for it to just break off...regardless.
  • Unique and Wonderful Gift

    Comments about Product:
I bought this for my husband's birthday. It is so much fun to watch and the lights are fun because they switch colors all night long. If it doesn't rotate freely for you at the slightest breeze, loosen the sails just a bit. They have to "snap" with the wind direction when they rotate. It will be a sad day when this ceases to work. We watch it every day! We live on the water so the breezes keep it moving constantly.
