Disappointing start

Reviewed on: 1/1/2013 12:00:00 AM

Bought as a Christmas gift for my husband. After he went to all the work putting the sensor on the roof, after the first storm it won't work. Part has come off. Can't find the part, can't reach the sensor because of snow and ice. Disappointing. Will try to get a replacement part. Otherwise, good looking unit and fun to watch other features.

Have purchased to replace unit that fail

It is used t0 keep track of the weather. There is significant doubt about accuracy of rain amount and wind speed. Does not agree with simple column type rain guage 20' away. Wind speed also seems low, based upon my opinion as a sailor

good low-end weather station

Delivery was quick. Full manual should be included w/ unit. Navigation on the display is not easy to follow, hard to clear data.

don't buy this!

Reviewed on: 5/28/2011 12:00:00 AM

the temp and wind are wildly inaccurate and the display for wall went out after only 3 months. You can read it if it is laying flat on the table, but not hanging on the wall which is what we bought it for. We wasted our money on this one. Shame, it would have been a lot of fun it it did any of the stuff it said that it would.

Good produvt. Poor instructions

Very satisfied with our weather center

Not worth the trouble

Reviewed on: 12/16/2010 12:00:00 AM

i have changed batteries 4 times - the hg function will not work. I even contacted the maker of unit. I did everything they suggested. So now with ice and snow it stopped working except for temp because the unit froze on the unit installed on 10 foot pole away from everything.(so much for wind chill function!) As soon as I can get it down I will return for refund. john shepherd

Not reliable

Reviewed on: 11/9/2010 12:00:00 AM

Purchased the item several years ago. The temp stopped working within a year. Finally got that straighten out, now the wind reader does not work. It is a pain in the behind to re-progream (i.e. when changing batteries or zeroing out the rain gauge) something about pressing the one button so many times -

very disappointing for the price

Reviewed on: 9/20/2010 12:00:00 AM

We purchased our weather center for Christmas on 2008. A little over a year later, It quit working. The on-line support was slow and ineffective. Finally, several weeks later, they said to send the whole thing back. They returned it shortly with a difficult to understand statement. Now 8 months later it again will not record the current weather, no temps, wind, or rain.

i would buy this product again

Starter weather Station

Reviewed on: 6/24/2010 12:00:00 AM

Hi Folks, The starter weather station performed great for the first day. Then, the second day it no longer displayed the barometric pressure. I am currently working with Lacrosse Technology to determine the cause. Can't seem to define the problem but hope to. Somewhat disappointing but hopefully can resolve the problem.

It has a problem

Basically good overall

Reviewed on: 5/26/2010 12:00:00 AM

Everything works well on this, however the outside temp. is always very high - we must have put it in the direct sunlight. Also, there is no indoor temp display - somehow I missed that on the description and it would have been a nice additional feature.

Starter Weather Center 2 - Wonderful

We live in NW Minnesota and knowing what the wind is, the wind chill and real temps here in lakes country is wonderful. We are so excited about having REAL information this winter when it really gets cold. Wonderful product

This a great product easy to set up.

I use this weather station for information for flowers and herbs. I also use this product for tracking the weather for fishing. I'm a fly fisherman and use this to track when the bugs are hatching.
