I have a couple of these already, so when this unit went on sale I decided to buy another one for a different room. When I went to set up the new thermometer, which looks identical to my older models, I discovered that this unit uses a higher frequency to connect to the remote sensor (915mhz vs. 433 mhz for the older models). This just means that I will now have two sensors hanging outside. During testing inside, I compared the inside and outside temp readings to a reference handheld weather meter from Kestrel. Once everything settled in the units all measured temps within 2 tenths of a degree- very impressive for an inexpensive thermometer.
