Grow fascinating floral of the rain forest right in your home with our assorted collection of Tillandsia air plants. Grown entirely in southern California from seed and offsets. Tillandsia bubosa, Tillandsia streptophylla, Tillandsia ionantha, Tillandsia stricta 'Hard Leaf' and a Tillandsia hybrid. These amazing Tillandsia air plants grow entirely without soil. They take all of their nutrients in through their leaves. They are native to Central and South America where they grow on tree branches and rocks. They can be attached to driftwood, rocks, sea shells, etc. with a waterproof, non-toxic glue or suspended using only plastic coated wire. All they need to survive is bright filtered sunlight, air cirulation, and water.
They can be easily grown inside near a window (East or West exposure is best) or outside in a shaded patio, as long as temperatures are above freezing. Indoors, soak them overnight every week to 10 days and outside shower them with water 1-2 times per week.

They arrived here in KY in perfect condition. One even has a large bud. Found colored aquarium sand in a terra cotta color for their dish -- it shows them off perfectly. Love these and will be ordering more for friends.
Love these plants!

I recently started making miniature gardens and have used these plants for that. They are perfect for containers that can't hold dirt. For instance, I had an old picnic basket and had my husband install a piece of board several inches below the top. I added small gravel, my miniature garden accessories and these plants! I am going to purchase more to use in decorative candleholders that I had no use for.
