Sail Shredder

I agree with previous reviewers. The sails, especially the yellow section on the multicolored sails, do not last. We had to make a new sail of more durable material. We even brought our unit in for the winter. Other than that we enjoyed it until the lower boats stopped spinning in the fourth year.

Know that the sails will fail

We had this spinner and enjoyed for 1 summer. Stored inside over the winter and by mid 2nd summer the flat top masts had worn through the sails. Manufacturer should take this into account for the next model

Beware weak connection

Have bought this product twice. Exact same installation place. First one lasted two full years (removed and keep inside during winter). Replaced it in 2014 because original unit's sails tore. Installed new one and within a week the connection between the post and the mounting plate broke. Wind and Weather sent a replacement quickly (very good customer service). While unpacking new unit from box same thing happened; mounting plate dislodged from post holding light and sails rending unit useless. Looks like connection is held together with glue, whereas it should be welded. Won't buy again unless the manufacturer changes it process. When it works it is a fun piece for the yard.

Pretty cheap but looks good from a distance.
As with other complaints the attachment to the base is/was worthless. Broke as I was putting it up. no weld at all! I was able to put a bolt through the base and secured it to my satisfaction. such a shame as it is or should be such a fun piece.

Love it . . . but

I love this and it is a great addition to our river house, however I'm a little disappointed in the sails, especially with the price paid. Like one reviewer said, no matter what knot you tie, the sails tend to come undone and it takes some toying around to get the inside boats to spin. Also after one summer the sails are badly faded (we brought it in for the winter). After just one seasons use, I'm going to have to make replacement sails soon.
