A purr-fectly adorable accent for indoors or out, this Handcrafted Metal Alley Cat Sculpture will win the hearts of cat lovers young and old! An original design by California sculptor Susan Regert, this metal “fence topper” features an alley cat sitting with his back turned with his curled tail hanging below. Using a plasma cutter, Susan shapes and hand welds this cat statue from 14-gauge steel. This alley cat sculpture is then sent to the greenhouse to start the rusting process. Its rusted patina will even continue to change as he weathers outside! Susan believes the cat sculpture's natural rust is an understated look, that lets the design be the focus. Place this metal alley cat on any shelf, fence post or garden wall for an eye-catching accent that won't be missed! Made in the USA.
A prolific artist for over 30 years, Susan was born and raised on a small farm in Merced, California. She has drawn on her surroundings as inspiration for both her watercolors, lawn art and metal garden sculptures. Years of raising Suffolk sheep, and then managing the family cattle business, has given her insight into the character of animals and their surroundings, which have been the subjects for many of her pieces. She opened Regert's Gallery in 1986 and ten years later started “Z” Garden Party. Her goal was to design a series of outdoor garden art that would appeal to both the whimsical and the serious collector. Susan prefers a realistic approach in both her paintings and yard décor.
