Metal artisans handcraft this pinwheel with sweeping fronds that spin independently in opposite directions. The result is a mesmerizing kinetic display whenever a breeze blows. Crafted of copper, this garden accent will catch more than the wind when set in your yard. Light assembly required.
• Wind spinner • Copper metal will develop a natural patina over time • Pinwheels spin in opposite directions for artful kinetic design • Some assembly required
Comments about Product: It is a beautiful spinner. The spokes are not balanced well, so you have to manipulate them to get it to spin the way it should. Still haven't gotten it to work perfectly. Added magnets to even out the balancing to try and get it to spin right, but that hasn't worked well. If we get a really good windstorm both of them will go. Most the time only the back piece spins and the front piece stays put.
Comments about Product: I took the top section off the bottom and placed it onto a bigger/taller steel poll. I added magnets and will everything I did, it really did make a big difference. Wish the directions would of given some hints. At first very unhappy but now feeling so much better. It still needs a wind of 10-15 mph, but at lease there is movement.
Comments about Product: Whether the wind is high, low, or neither, this is a beauty to behold. We like the looks and its ability to give us a sense of the weather outside. We plan to purchase for a gift to other outdoor lovers.
Comments about Product: It is a pretty object. However, it does not turn, or at least mine doesn't turn. Every now and then one side will spin the other just doesn't move. I found the instruction puzzling as to position of the wheels. The stand is I think too flimsy and absorbs energy that should be turning the wheels, the piece wobbles in the wind. I wouldn't buy this.
Comments about Product: I bought this for my husband on our anniversary and he bought me the tulip spinner. At first the pinwheel didn't spin but we noticed one of the wheels was not balanced. My husband put some magnets on the leaves to balance it out and now it spins like crazy. Love it.
Comments about Product: This is a fun addition to the garden and affordable compared to others we have looked at. Not sure why it does not spin perfectly but it is still charming.
Comments about Product: As noted by others, this is a very unique item that looks great in the yard; however, will not spin even with adequate wind. I've tried the weights, lubricants, bending wings a bit to catch the air better - 6 different locations and nothing even though the rest of my spinners work just fine. Great ornament in the yard, but don't let it get to you if it won't spin - it's just how its engineered that limits its ability to function as promised.
Comments about Product: Cost tooo much for something that looks good, but doesn't work, already rusting out in places. Beautiful if it worked. Thoughts any one?
Comments about Product: This beautiful spinner withstood our NM spring winds (50mph) with dust and survived! It looks great and I enjoy watching it. It is a great addition to my new garden.
Comments about Product: This is perfect as a unique gift for anyone who enjoys artistic pieces in their yard. It's interesting to watch even when there's not much wind and it's only moving a bit, and when it's spinning full-speed, it's fascinating.
Comments about Product: We live on a lake and the wind can vary from benign to 30-50 mph. This product looks great in higher breezes but does not spin at low wind speeds. For some reason, two of the wings have broken off in higher winds. We purchased a brass one at the same time and it turns easily and has held up well.
Comments about Product: I almost did not purchase this product after reading the reviews. But im sure glad that I did. it was a wonderfull gift. [...] it would not spin untill I put a little pitch to the blades. The only major imprvement would be to engineer it to move to face into the wind
Comments about Product: This is easy to assemble and looks nice in the yard but it rarely spins in the wind. We reassembled it, moved it to different locations in the yard with no luck. Ironically, it did spin when covered with ice so I suspect there is something wrong with the balance.
Comments about Product: We have this set up so we can see it out our front window. It has withstood 40 mph winds. Both pinwheels didn't turn at first, but we moved and bent the pinwheels and they are both working fine now. Have had many comments about it from guests: beautiful, soothing, mesmerizing.
Comments about Product: The mounting pole is too flimsy. The energy that would be used to spin the turbines is instead transferred into the pole swaying back and forth.
Comments about Product: I received this as a gift for Christmas from my husband. We live on the side of a mountain so the wind is always blowing. The thing has been outside for months and I've yet to see it spin in a complete circle.
Very unsatisfied!
Comments about Product: I really like the appearance of the pinwheel and it was easy to assemble. It looked good in place, but when I decided to move it, pulling it up from soft soil and placing it in soft to medium soil caused half the mounting assembly to snap off. Now the item is held in the ground by only two pins, not four, and I doubt it will stand well in any strong winds.
Comments about Product: The reviews kept mentioning that it doesn't spin except in strong winds. I figured, being an aircraft mechanic, I can balance a propeller, so I can balance it and make it spin in Oklahoma strong winds. I loaded it with those big triangle paperclips, but it still won't consistently spin in under 20 mph winds. No way would I recommend it to a stranger.
Comments about Product: This is a beautiful piece that really compliments my garden; however, it is difficult to get it working properly. I bought three of these, and all of them were not balanced properly, so they pulled to the heaviest side and would barely move and only in very high winds. Rather than send it back, I just used a regular cieling fan balancing kit and added some weight to the lighter side. This fixed the problem and now it spins very nicely. This item is obviously hand made and it is probably 50/50 that you will get one that is properly balanced. Although it is easily fixed (for me), it still gets only two stars from me. When I pay for something like this, I expect it to work out of the box and not require me to come us with methods and modifications to get it to work.
Comments about Product: It is a great looking product. However both pin wheels required balancing with weights in order for the wind to turn them. Otherwise the heavy weighted side just stays at the bottom
Comments about Product: I agree with the folks that said this did not work. I put it in my garden and evidently the leaves on the trees blocked the wind. Now that the leaves are off the trees, one side twirls but the other doesn't. I would NOT recommend that you buy this!
Comments about Product: I took the advice of another reviewer and sprayed the joints with WD-40 for lubrication and it has worked wonderfully well. It has been a nice addition to our garden. It does require a good breeze and both parts do not revolve all the time (second one needs more wind)but it still is interesting. I agree with another reviewer who said it would have been good to allow the top to revolve so as to catch the wind from different directions.
Comments about Product: Product assembled easily and looked as advertised. Unfortunately, the spinners were not balanced properly and would not spin correctly.
Spinners became damaged while trying to balance them.
Comments about Product: Looks lovely in our yard. Perfect size. The pole is a little light and gives to the wind which reduces the activity of the item. We dug a hole to bury it a little deeper but it didn't help much. A little WD40 helped getting it to spin more. All this being said - I am pleased we bought it.
Comments about Product: Reasonably well made, but watch out for [...] damage-keep box. I had to return the first one. [...]. A return label was on box. The units may arrive with some minor damage but easy to fix. The 2nd one was in better shape. Easy to assemble. It is attractive to watch even when not spinning. Needs a good wind (10MPH) or better to spin the first wheel. A strong wind spins both wheels. A light wind rocks the wheels but it is still fascinating to watch.
Comments about Product: The windmill is wonderful to watch. It does require a good wind. I'd say 10 to 15 knots to perform. Only problem I would like to see changed is to allow it to rotate to get the best effect of the wind. It is stationary. However, I am pleased with the purchase and enjoy the show.
Comments about Product: We have many hosta, ornimental grasses, and a wide variety of different folliage plants in our gardens ,with hanging plants etc ,and this pinwheel looks GREAT in the garden. EVEN if there is no wind it's lovely to look at. It was a little difficult to get the holes lined up to put the screws in,but worth the struggle. We enjoy ours very much. After looking at others at other web sights and the prices, we're happy to find this at a affordable price[...] I would like to see more at an affordable price or tall sculptures. THANKS WIND AND WEATHER
Comments about Product: Easy to put together; appears very well-made and is holding up well with our windy weather. Heavy and sturdy, yet easy to manage. Love it!
Comments about Product: This was Mother's day gift for my mom after seeing large ones at art shows. This was perfect for her deck! Mesmerizing action, easy to assemble, sturdy. She LOVED it as have all her friends who love to watch it.
Comments about Product: I put the pinwheel in the middle of a shock of zebra grass. I do have to trim the tops of the grass periodically but the pinwheel is very unique and I've had many interesting comments about it.
Comments about Product: This piece was surprisingly easy to assemble and provides a great visual curiosity in the garden. Unlike the more expensive 'kinetic wind spinner' this one actually moves in even the lightest wind.
