Tuned to the joyous notes of Hava Nagil, the Shalom Wind Chime is a celebration of peace.
The Hebrew word Shalom means "peace" and is used as a greeting or farewell. Our Shalom Chime will ring hello and goodbye to all who come to your home.
This chime is tuned to the notes of the uplifting melody of the song cantor and musicologist Abraham Zevi Idelsohn called Hava Nagila. Inspired by Psalm 118, Indelson put words to this old Hasidic melody that Eastern European immigrants brought to Jerusalem. The premier performance of this song was given at a special concert in 1918.
Nearly overnight, Hava Nagila spread throughout the countryside. The song achieved international popularity among non-Jews in the 1950s and 60s when it was recorded by several musical artists including Neil Diamond and Harry Belafonte. With its uplifting melody and joyous lyrics, Hava Nagila remains a staple of Jewish weddings and religious celebrations to this day.
Let us rejoice, let us rejoice Let us rejoice and be glad! Let us sing, let us sing Let us sing and be glad! Awake, awake brothers Awake brothers with a joyful heart!

Comments about Product: We have this chime hanging out on our patio. It has a very lilting sound and not at all disruptive. Even when the wind gets to blowing a little hard it still sounds nice. I highly recommend this chime. It also looks to be very easy to care for.
