When we first put this up it fell off the window after a couple of days. The second time we put it up, my husband cleaned the glass thoroughly, dampened the suction cups and it has held fast for six months+. I just bought two more for presents.

I put the thermometer on the outside of one of the windows in my sunroom where it is not directly in the sun. It has been very accurate and gives me the same temperature outside that the weather channel gives for the same time. It was very easy to install and I am very pleased with my purchase.

I bought 4 of these. Gave 1 as a gift. She loved it. I have 1 in kitchen inside, 1 in kitchen window outside and one in my living room. I love them. I know just what the temp is in or out!

Does not come with special screwdriver needed to activate battery.Also did not mention that one was needed before purchase. Had to purchase at additional cost of $ 2.49.

the suction-cup do not hold, every time it rain the one side come lost or the other, i like the old one i got about 5 years ago

This thermomter consistently registered 5 to 8 degrees higher than any other thermometer I own and any reading from [@]. Simply not accurate.

I have it installed outside on a shady window, but it must pick up heat from the house or for some unknown reason reads too warm. Too bad, because the design is otherwise very clever.

My primary concern is that display failed within a year. I could work around suction cups and lack of nocturnal readings

THe thermometer itself was great - would have liked to have been able to see the digtal screen at night. The real problem was with the suction cups - cleaned the window numerous times and still the suction cups did not suc. The thermometer finally fell to it's death last night and was cracked irrepiarably. Sweet dreams digtal thermometer.

I bought 3 to check hall temperatures in the 3-flat where we live. They were easy to install, read. Cost was low, too.

While a clever design, the major problems are this:
If you have to attach the unit it an outside pane, how do you know the reading isn't skewed by the heat coming through the glass? Also, at night, there is absolutely NO contrast on the display and you cannot read it at all.

I purchased this as a gift for my adult son, who lives in Northern Virginia. He installed it outside a window in his home. He subsequently reported that the thermometer gave false high temperatures due to heat transmittal through the window where it was mounted.

Easy to read. Accurate temps. (Can't use outdoors on glass surface in very cold weather--suction cups can't adhere to glass properly.)

I just tried this unit to replace a similar digital thermometer from LaCrosse that finally died after YEARS of great service. This unit has a much weaker battery and a much dimmer display than my previous one.Also, since the battery is a coin battery, instead of AAA, that means more cost upfront and no re-usable batteries. Suction cups were so weak I had to use clear tape to keep it from falling off the window. Good thing I saved the receipt and the box. It's going back.

Wanted it to hang on outdoor window but directions say it is NOT waterproof and had to be hung under an overhang. Also said it should be taken indoors in extremely cold weather. I bought 2 and wish I would have known this beforehand or would not have purchased. I wanted it for outdoors and in all kinds of weather. Not sure where to put it now. Disappointed.

I had a similar Lacrosse window mount, which after 5 years wore out. I thought this was the same item, but didn't look carefully enough. The green glass and aqua cylinder caps make the thermometer more noticeable in the window - not what I was going for. And, as noted, the suction cup mount slipped within 24 hours in mild weather. I can't imagine it holding up in climate extremes.
